Hacked Doll, Rusty Nails

Part of an ongoing series of hacked dolls and larger sculpture figures pierced by large rusty nails into their heads and (or) bodies. The works continue the interest in found objects inserted into the context of the human body to create a feeling of abject unease, dark humour and uncanniness.

Heathcliff

In a playful mood I have renamed one of my small uncanny heads Heathcliff; with a nod to the new Wuthering Heights film release and controversial whitewashing of the character.

Soon available in the store!

New work in progress

New work in the studio this month includes a larger figure (approx. 70 cm). My intention is to create a pair of girls with bestial qualities, possibly horse's tails. photographed here on the floor of the studio it reminded me of the German surrealist artist Hans Bellmer's dismembered dolls c1930's.

The new dolls are to be shown in a solo exhibition at Rampant Gallery, Atlanta, in the autumn 2026.
