Stemco Hubodometer
One of a series of four head and torso sculptures, the Stemco Hubodometer sculpture is a double headed skeletal torso crowned with a vintage mechanical hubodometer (a device for measuring the distance a vehicle has travelled by counting axle revolutions).
The work continues the exploration into how found objects inserted into the context of the human body create a feeling of abject unease, dark humour and uncanniness.

New work in progress
New work in the studio this month includes a larger figure (approx. 70 cm). My intention is to create a pair of girls with bestial qualities, possibly horse's tails. photographed here on the floor of the studio it reminded me of the German surrealist artist Hans Bellmer's dismembered dolls c1930's.
The new dolls are to be shown in a solo exhibition at Rampant Gallery, Atlanta, in the autumn 2026.
