Artist Bio
Teresa Wilson (born Elstree 1965) is a visual artist best known for her human sculpture. Working with ideas of the uncanny and abject, she has evolved a body of work that includes discrete sculpture people and claustrophobic room sized immersive environments.
Wilson is based in Manchester and studied the History of Art at the University of Manchester and Visual Arts at the University of Salford, including an MA in Contemporary Fine Art in 2023.
She has had several solo shows including an online show with Artsy in 2021 and her work has been shown in group shows all over the UK, in Germany and Türkiye.
Residencies and commissions include a research project at the Babayan Cultureshouse in Ürgüp, Türkiye and Manchester Asia Triennial.
Wilson is co-founder of the Uncanny Stitch Collective.
